Korse and Shomer form new company, acquire Abilities Expo

5Net4 Productions, a new Santa Monica, CA-based company formed by David Korse and Lew Shomer, has acquired Abilities Expo from Questex Media Group, a b-to-b diversified media company. Launched in 1979 by Richard and Pat Wooten, Abilities Expo is a series of shows focused on people with disabilities, caretakers and corporate and HR managers that manage company ADA programs.

The show is produced in three cities: Minneapolis, Sept. 12 - 14, 2008; New York, April 17-19, 2009; and Southern California, May 29-31, 2009.

"With an aging population of seniors, returning veterans and the technology that prolongs people's lives, we feel that Abilities Expo will provide the latest information on products and services that will enhance the quality of life for caregivers and people needing assistance with disabilities," says 5Net4 CEO David Korse, who hopes to expand Abilities Expo to other cities.

Korse has served in senior executive positions with Reed Exhibitions, IDG and Imark Communications before forming 5Net4 to purchase Abilities Expo.

Shomer has a background creating career fairs and has served on the Board of Trustees of the NAACP, the National Urban League, LULAC and the President's Council for the Disabled. He worked with the council to produce the first career fair celebrating the Americans with Disabilities Act.
