Group Vice President, Talent Strategy
Kurt Nelson is Group Vice President, Talent Strategy at Questex. Kurt is responsible for creating the human resources vision, direction and leadership for Questex. He also oversees traditional human resource functions.
An innovative senior level human resource executive, Kurt is a strategic thought leader with a focus on affecting transformational change through the creation of new and the enhancement of existing human resource programs. Kurt has a proven track record of leading organizations through significant stages of change including CEO leadership, ownership structure and merging two of the largest business to business information services companies in the U.S. In his previous role, he was Vice President of Human Resources at Penton, the largest privately held professional information services company in North America.
Prior to Penton, Kurt served as Vice President, Human Resources at BlackRock where he assisted in the development of HR policies in conjunction with BlackRock's Initial Public Offering (IPO) including the creation of firm-wide award recognition and employee ownership programs.
Earlier, Kurt was Human Resource Generalist for Osprey Ship Management Inc. where he supported the development of loss prevention programs and the management of work related accident and injury claims filed by U.S. Merchant Mariners.
